After failing to defend the men's compound team crown, Malaysian archer Juwaidi Marzuki bounced back in style by winning two gold medals at the 2021 SEA Games on the same day.

Teaming up with Wong Co Wan and Alang Ariff Aqil Ghazalli, the 32-year-old had suffered an agonising loss by one point in the men's compound team final to Indonesia.

Despite the setback, Juwaidi later tasted a one-point victory when he partnered up with Nurfatehah Mat Salleh to beat Filipino archers Jennifer Dy Chan and Paul Marton Santos Dela Cruz 151-150 in the mixed compound team final.

He maintained his momentum in the men's individual compound event to finish above Thailand's Sirapop Chainak and Alang.

With his two gold medals, it also ensured the national archery team kept their streak of winning at least one gold at the SEA Games since 2003.
