Bintang Liverpool, Virgil van Dijk, terdesak mahukan Naby Keita mengelak daripada kecederaan bagi musim 2020-21 dan membuktikan kepada Liga Perdana Inggeris bahawa dirinya berkelas dunia.
Keita, 25, berhijrah ke Liverpool daripada RB Leipzig pada 2018 selepas meraih pujian ketika beraksi bersama kelab Jerman itu serta di Salzburg.
Keita menempah nama sebagai salah seorang pemain tengah yang berpotensi ketika beraksi di Jerman -- kualiti yang dimiliki ketika mengawal bola serta mencipta dan meledak jaringan antara yang berjaya menarik minat beberapa kelab gergasi Eropah.
Bagaimanapun, prestasi yang diharap untuk dijelmakan bersama Liverpool tidak berhasil apabila terhimpit dengan masalah kecederaan sehingga separuh kedua musim 2019-20 di mana Keita mula mendapatkan rentak.
Van Dijk teruja melihat Keita menyinar dan berharap isu kecergasan pemain tengah itu tidak akan menjadi halangannya untuk musim depan.
"Saya sangat gembira buat Keita," katanya. "Dia seorang pemain yang bekerja keras dan seorang yang luar biasa.
"Kami dapat melihatnya, dia kurang bernasib baik kerana kerap menghadapi masalah kecederaan tetapi kami berharap dia mampu cergas sepanjang musim.
"Saya berasakan dia seorang pemain bertaraf dunia. Saya dapat melihat setiap saat dia memegang bola, dia kerap melakukan gerakan yang bijak, dia seorang pemain yang kreatif."
