Jamie Vardy akan diketepikan sekali lagi ekoran kecederaan lutut selepas Brendan Rodgers mengesahkan penyerang Leicester City itu akan direhatkan untuk 'beberapa minggu', manakala kepulangan Wesley Fofana daripada rehat jangka panjang turut ditangguhkan.
Vardy, 35, telah menghabiskan banyak masa di tepi padang pada 2022, dengan penampilan pemain gantiannya dalam kemenangan 2-0 di Burnley pada 1 Mac merupakan aksi pertamanya tahun ini selepas dua bulan berehat akibat kecederaan hamstring.
Dia kemudiannya turun dalam kekalahan 1-0 Leicester ke atas Leeds United empat hari kemudian, tetapi semasa perlawanan itu dia mengalami kecederaan lutut.
Rodgers agak kabur apabila menggariskan berapa lama dia menjangkakan Vardy akan diketepikan, tetapi nampaknya Leicester akan tanpa penjaring terbanyak mereka berpotensi sehingga sebulan.
"Dia mengalami kecederaan di lututnya, tetapi diharapkan dalam tempoh tiga hingga empat minggu akan datang ia akan bertindak balas dengan baik," kata Rodgers menjelang pertembungan pusingan 16 Liga Persidangan Europa bertemu Rennes.
"Dia akan diketepikan selama beberapa minggu, amat mengecewakan buat kami sepasukan."
