Selepas mencipta kejayaan sensasi hole-in-one dalam satu kejohanan golf di ibu kota hujung minggu lalu, pemenang Piala AFF 2010, Safee Sali, bertekad memastikan penampilannya di pentas 2022 mampu beri impak bersama Kuala Lumpur City.
Safee yang membarisi skuad gemilang Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) ketika menjulang kejuaraan Piala AFC 2016 mahu memastikan penampilan ketiganya dalam saingan Asia itu mampu melakar satu lagi rekod baru buat skuad Lembah Klang berkenaan.
"Kami membuat persiapan terbaik, kami bersedia menghadapi Piala AFC.
"Saya pernah beraksi dalam Piala AFC bersama Selangor dan menjuarai Piala AFC 2015 bersama JDT.
"Saya pernah menjaringkan gol lipat dan banyak sejarah dalam kejohanan ini.
"Saya harap Kuala Lumpur dapat berbuat sesuatu untuk melangkah jauh," katanya ketika dihubungi Astro Arena.
Skuad kendalian Bojan Hodak itu akan membuka kempen Kumpulan H berdepan PSM Makassar di Stadium Cheras, Jumaat ini.
Sementara itu, Safee sempat ditanya mengenai kariernya bersama kem Kuala Lumpur dalam jendela perpindahan kedua Liga Malaysia (Liga-M), namun bintang yang pernah membuat 76 kali penampilan antarabangsa itu enggan melatah, sebaliknya optimis kudratnya masih ditagih The City Boys.
"Saya tiada perancangan apa-apa yang baru lagi untuk kerjaya ini.
"Saya masih bersama Kuala Lumpur, tunggu sampai habis musim ini untuk tengok keadaan saya bersama pasukan ini kelak."
