Apabila ditanya sama ada tewas kepada bekas kelabnya menjadikan kekalahan lebih mudah, Mourinho menegaskan tidak, walaupun mengakui bahawa dia menyokong anak buah Simone Inzaghi untuk mempertahankan kejuaraan mereka.
"Tidak sama sekali," katanya. "Saya mahu memenangi semua perlawanan.
"Saya suka Inter, Inter sayang saya. Jelas sekali sekarang saya boleh katakan bahawa kami tidak bermain menentang Inter, Milan, Juve dan Napoli, sekarang saya boleh mengatakan bahawa saya mahu Inter memenangi Scudetto. Tetapi sebelum perlawanan saya hanya fokus untuk menang.
"Saya suka Inter tetapi saya suka Rome dan saya suka kerja saya. Kami dibayar untuk menang."
Roma kekal di tempat kelima, lima mata di belakang Juventus di tempat terakhir Liga Juara-Juara setelah bermain lebih banyak permainan, dan hanya dua mata di depan Fiorentina dan Lazio di tempat keenam dan ketujuh, setelah bermain dua dan satu perlawanan lebih banyak daripada kedua-dua pasukan.
