Ketua jurulatih Sri Pahang FC, Christophe Gamel, mengakui perancangannya terjejas selepas 20 pemain dan pegawai pasukan itu dijangkiti COVID-19 sehingga perlawanan Liga Super menentang Terengganu FC malam ini terpaksa ditunda.
Selain perlawanan malam ini, pasukan Pantai Timur itu juga akan terlepas perlawanan menentang Selangor dan aksi pusingan pertama Piala FA bertemu Manjung City FC minggu depan.
Ia menyaksikan Sri Pahang perlu berehat sepanjang tempoh kuarantin dan hanya dapat memulakan aksi selepas saingan liga bersambung pada 5 April depan.
"Apabila saya tidak dapat memulihkan pemain dan mereka tidak dapat menjalani latihan, saya perlu memulakan semula persiapan kami," katanya kepada wartawan Astro Arena, Zulhelmi Zainal Azam.
"Saya tiada pilihan kerana ada sesetengah mereka sudah memulakan tempoh pengasingan selama 10 hari.
"Tetapi itulah yang kami perlu lakukan, kami perlu mematuhi SOP (prosedur operasi standard) dan ia bermakna tahap kecergasan pemain dan segala-galanya akan menurun.
"Mujur pihak penganjur membuat keputusan terbaik untuk menunda perlawanan ini kerana jika tidak, kami tidak dapat menyediakan pasukan.
"Jadi, persediaan kami bergantung kepada waktu saya akan kembali mendapatkan kembali majoriti permain saya," katanya.
