Julian Nagelsmann menjulang trofi pertamanya bersama Bayern Munich selepas gol daripada Robert Lewandowski dan Thomas Muller memastikan kemenangan 3-0 mereka ke atas Borussia Dortmund dalam penentuan DFL Supercup awal pagi tadi.
Dalam pertemuan sengit di antara juara Bundesliga dan pemenang DFB-pokal itu di Signal Iduna Park, Bayern berhasil mempertahankan kejuaraan mereka dalam pertemuan ketiga berturut-turut seteru Klassiker berkenaan dalam perebutan Supercup.
Sebelum ini, Lewandowski memecahkan rekod yang sekian lama dipegang Gerd Muller dengan 40 gol dalam satu kempen Bundesliga sewaktu sepakan terakhirnya dalam musim 2020-21 dan dia meneruskan rentak cemerlang itu dengan membuka jaringan buat Bayern pada minit ke-41 pertemuan kali ini.
Empat minit selepas babak kedua bersambung, Muller meletakkan Bayern selesa dengan kelebihan dua gol tetapi jaringan daripada Marco Reus kembali menghidupkan peluang buat Dortmund.
Bagaimanapun, Lewandowski ternyata menjadi duri dalam daging buat lawan itu pada 16 minit terakhir dengan memanfaatkan kesilapan Manuel Akanji, sekali gus menghukum pasukan bimbingan Marco Rose itu dengan gol kedua peribadinya.
