Ketua Program Pembangunan Hoki, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Norsaiful Zaini, menawarkan tempat untuk beberapa pemain Sapura, terutama empat bekas tonggak utama Thunderbolt, selepas juara Piala Tan Sri P. Alagendra itu menarik diri daripada Liga Hoki Malaysia (LHM), musim depan.
TNB membuka pintu untuk bekas pemainnya kembali ke pangkuan mereka.
Beberapa pemain Sapura diketuai penyerang, Firhan Ashaari, pernah membentuk gandingan mantap ketika TNB muncul juara Piala TNB 2010.
Malah, pemain-pemain ini dilahirkan daripada program Thunderbolt kendalian TNB.
Jadi, ini masa paling sesuai untuk mereka kembali ke pangkuan bekas gergasi LHM ini.
"Saya rasa ramai daripada pemain ini seperti Faiz Helmi dan Firhan mungkin lebih mudah untuk bermain bersama TNB.
"Ini kerana di dalam pasukan kami terdapat bekas-bekas pemain ketika mereka beraksi bersama TNB sebelum ini," ujar Norsaiful.
TNB mempunyai dua wakil dalam Liga Perdana LHM musim depan, iaitu skuad utama dan TNB Thunderbolt yang dinaikkan pangkat selaku juara divisyen 1.
Bagaimanapun, tempat lebih sesuai dalam skuad utama memandangkan TNB Thunderbolt ialah pasukan projek 2020 untuk menghadapi Piala Dunia Remaja.
"Agak malang untuk Sapura kerana membuat keputusan menarik diri.
"Jadi, kami di TNB sentiasa terbuka untuk menerima jika ada di antara mereka yang mahu bermain bersama kami," tambahnya.
