Perkampungan atlet Sukan SEA Filipina yang mampu memuatkan kira-kira 1,600 peserta, hampir siap sepenuhnya dan ia melengkapkan pencapaian syarikat dari Malaysia yang membina stadium dan kemudahan temasya itu yang bermula bulan depan.
Perkampungan sukan dengan 525 bilik di New Clark City, Manila itu dibina oleh sebuah syarikat Malaysia dan sudah mula digunakan atlet tuan rumah sejak Ogos lalu.
Ia membuktikan kepakaran Malaysia untuk terlibat dengan pembinaan tempat penginapan berkenaan dan beberapa venue yang akan mencatat sejarah penting di Filipina.
"Ia buat semua atlet. Fasiliti di Manila sedang ditambah baik dan ia sesuatu yang baru buat atlet seperti saya," kata pelari 400 meter Filipina, Alejan Edgardo Jr.
"Ia amat bagus untuk berlatih di sini sebagai persiapan menjelang Sukan SEA."
Selain itu, syarikat dari Malaysia turut membina pusat akuatik dengan kapasiti 2,000 tempat duduk dan trek di stadium olahraga, yang menggunakan bahan jenis Rekortan M-Polytan.
