Atlet bowling negara, Syaidatul Afifah Badrul Hamidi, menyasarkan untuk mengekalkan persembahan cemerlang dalam dua lagi kejohanan tahun ini.
Tahun 2016 menyaksikan permulaan kurang baik buat Syaidatul selepas dia mengalami kecederaan belakang sehingga terpaksa berehat hampir tiga bulan.
Begitupun, dia kembali menemui rentak dengan beberapa persembahan konsisten dipamerkan, termasuk ketika Siri Jelajah Persatuan Boling Wanita Profesional Amerika Syarikat selain Kejohanan Piala Dunia AMF di Shanghai.
Kini, dia memberi tumpuan kepada Kejohanan Masters yang akan berlangsung di Bandar Sunway, hujung bulan ini selain Kejohanan Terbuka Qatar, Disember nanti.
"Sebelum ini, saya pernah bersaing dalam kejohanan bersama peserta lelaki juga.
"Setiap tahun, kami tidak sabar untuk mengikuti kejohanan ini sebab ia dianggap besar juga selain Terbuka Malaysia," ujarnya.
Dalam perkembangan yang sama, empat wakil negara sah tidak akan mengambil bahagian dalam Kejohanan Masters kali ini berikutan pertindihan jadual.
Menurut penganjur, keempat-empat pemain berkenaan, iaitu Syafiq Ridhwan, Rafiq Ismail, Sin Li Jane serta Esther Cheah akan menyertai Kejohanan Perseorangan Dunia di Qatar yang turut berlangsung pada hujung bulan ini.
"Mereka tidak akan beraksi dalam Kejohanan Masters kerana akan mengikuti Kejohanan Perseorangan Dunia Qatar.
"Pemain Malaysia yang selebihnya akan terlibat di Sunway," kata Pembantu Pengurus Besar Sunway Megalanes, Tan Yoke Chang.
Secara keseluruhan, penganjur menyasarkan lebih 800 peserta bagi kategori remaja bagi saingan yang memasuki edisi ke-17 tahun ini dengan tumpuan sudah pasti terarah kepada peserta dari Singapura dan Korea Selatan.
