Meskipun dihantui kecederaan berulang, skuad gimnastik lelaki tetap memburu klasifikasi terbaik dalam kalangan Asia Tenggara sempena Sukan Asia Indonesia 2018 dari 18 Ogos hingga 2 September depan.
Cabaran negara dalam Sukan Asia bakal digalas Jeremiah Loo, Tan Fu Jie, Chau Jern Rong, Azroy Amierol Jaafar dan Zul Bharin Mat Asri.
Mereka juga sebahagaian daripada skuad yang memenangi pingat perak berpasukan dalam Sukan SEA Kuala Lumpur 2017.
Vietnam muncul juara dalam temasya Kuala Lumpur 2017 dan sekali lagi menjadi penanda aras buat gimnas negara sambil perlu memikirkan cabaran daripada Thailand dan Indonesia.
"Mereka dilanda kecederaan tetapi saya tidak fikir ia akan menjejaskan persembahan mereka.
"Saya boleh katakan berpuas hati dengan persiapan mereka setakat ini, saya harap mereka boleh buat sehabis baik di Indonesia nanti.
"Ada tiga minggu lagi menjelang temasya Jakarta-Palembang 2018, saya harap atlet kini bebas daripada kecederaan selain bersedia daripada segi mental," kata jurulatih gimnastik negara, Ng Shu Liang.
