Kejayaan Farah Ann Abdul Hadi melayakkan diri ke Sukan Olimpik Tokyo 2020 bukan bererti barisan kejurulatihan sudah boleh berpeluk tubuh dan Amerika Syarikat (AS) kini menjadi destinasi impian untuk persiapan buat mana-mana gimnas di dunia.
AS memiliki rekod luar biasa dalam Sukan Olimpik apabila menjadikan pingat emas individu all around milik mereka sejak edisi Athens 2004 sehingga Rio 2016.
Persekutuan Gimnastik Malaysia (MGF) semalam menyenarai pendek negara itu dalam perancangan program persiapan Farah.
Sekalipun tidak berpeluang untuk berlatih dengan skuad kebangsaan mereka, mana-mana kem latihan di peringkat universiti atau kolej di sana tetap menawarkan perincian daripada gimnas berkualiti.
Ia senario yang sesuai bagi memperhalusi kelemahan-kelemahan kecil dalam rutin Farah untuk menyinar di Tokyo nanti.
"Kami telah membuktikan atlet negara mampu layak ke Sukan Olimpik kerana memiliki fasiliti yang lengkap. Jika kami dapat, kami mahu membawa atlet berlatih di AS kerana persaingan di sana mampu melonjakkan kemampuan atlet kami," kata ketua jurulatih negara, Ng Shu Wai.
Kem negara juga akan terus berusaha untuk memastikan ada lagi gimnas yang berupaya mengikut jejak langkah Farah ke Jepun.
"Saya berasakan atlet negara yang lain mampu melayakkan diri ke Sukan Olimpik dan berharap mereka mampu melakukannya."
