Former Malaysia and Selangor head coach Ken Worden has died at the age of 78 today.

Football Association of Selangor (FAS) confirmed he passed away at the Townsville General Hospital in Queensland, Australia.

The Englishman, who spent most of the 1990s and 2000s coaching in Southeast Asia, had several stints with the Red Giants, leading them to win the Malaysia Cup thrice, the Charity Cup twice and the FA Cup once.

Worden was involved with the Harimau Malaya between January 1992 and December 1993, notably winning the 1993 Merdeka Tournament.

He also had a short spell coaching Singapore, Sabah and Terengganu among other teams in the region.

Former national head coach K. Rajagopal, who was part of Worden's coaching staff in the early 1990s, was among the first to react to his death and send out condolences and tributes.
