Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, memberi jaminan persiapan kontinjen negara ke Sukan Olimpik Tokyo serta Sukan SEA di Vietnam tahun depan bakal menerima dana khas.
Beliau memaklumkan kepada wartawan Astro Arena, Bazly Azmi, ia peruntukan berbeza dengan dana RM55 juta yang diumumkan dalam Belanjawan 2021, Jumaat lalu, apabila kerajaan sebenarnya ada memperuntukkan sejumlah dana untuk mempersiapkan atlet negara menjelang sukan bertemasya, contohnya temasya Tokyo dengan sejumlah RM22.5k diperuntukkan dalam Belanjawan 2020.
Namun, tiada pengumuman mengenai dana khas untuk perkara sama pada 2021 hingga ia menimbulkan persoalan mengenai persiapan negara dalam pemburuam emas Sulung Olimpik.
"Banyak lagi yang tidak disebut daripada jumlah peruntukan RM940j itu, butirannya termasuk dalam dokumen bajet.
"Persiapan untuk atlet menghadapi kejohanan antarabangsa, tidak silap saya kami memperuntukkan RM60j dan Program Podium tidak disebut (sebenarnya) ia ada.
"Sebagai contohnya, sukan permotoran diletakkan (kategori) 'My Speed'.
"My Speed yang disebut dalam butiran itu akan diletakkan di bawah sukan permotoran, bagi saya sukan permotoran pasti akan berada dalam senarai saya," kata Reezal Merican di KBS, Putrajaya, hari ini.
