Howard played just nine games last season because of injury and he's played with four different teams over the last four seasons.
Los Angeles Lakers recruit Dwight Howard, 33, is relishing his second stint with the franchise.
"I never had any ill will toward any of the fans here in L.A.," Howard said. "I loved this city from the first moment I've been here."
The Lakers brought in Howard on a nonguaranteed, one-year deal after DeMarcus Cousins tore his ACL last month.
"We're definitely confident he can play the role we've laid out for him," Vogel said.
The Los Angeles Lakers confirmed 33-year-old center Dwight Howard's return to the team.
Howard, 33, averaged 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds for the Wizards last season but only appeared in nine games.
Mo Speights will also work out for the team this week in Los Angeles, and Marcin Gortat is being considered as well.
“I think it’s worth the risk for them,” one anonymous executive told HoopsHype. “If it doesn’t work out, they can cut bait.”
Although some think Howard's days as a valuable contributor in the NBA are winding down, he still brings some good things to the table.
