Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah has been dropped by Red Bull KTM Tech 3 for the 2020 season.

The French team announced on Wednesday the signing of 2016 Moto3 champion Brad Binder to partner with Miguel Oliveira, who was also a former Moto2 team-mate in 2017 and 2018, next year.

"I think to have the Miguel Oliveira-Brad Binder line-up reunited with us next year is something that shows the Red Bull KTM organisation and path is working.

"I think Brad Binder more than deserves a MotoGP ride next year after what he has been showing in the Moto2 the past two seasons," said team manager Herve Poncharal.

The decision dealt another blow to Hafizh's disappointing 2019 season as he failed to finish above 14th place so far, picking up just three points from nine races.

The 25-year-old Malaysian linked up with Red Bull KTM Tech 3 after his debut 2018 season with Monster Yamaha Tech 3, in which he finished as the second best rookie behind Franco Morbidelli, and 16th overall.

Prior to stepping up to the premier level, he competed in Moto2 for seven seasons.
