The search for the best amateur golfer continues with the 21st edition of the Prudential Astro Masters (PAM), making it the longest and most successful national amateur golf series in Malaysia.

Teeing off on August 1, the 2018 edition will have 10 qualifying rounds held across five states, in which five of the golf courses are among the top 10 in Malaysia.

Participating amateur golfers will compete to qualify for the Grand Finals, taking place from November 15 to 17 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and win prizes worth over RM300,000.

"The Prudential Astro Masters continues to be the most popular amateur golf series in Malaysia, and is arguably the most awaited event by amateur golfers every year," said P. Jeganathan, Organising Chairman of the PAM 2018.

"The PAM 2018 promises an even greater golfing experience for participants, including qualifying rounds at the top five courses in Malaysia, Grand Finals in Cambodia and a hole-in-one prize of a Golf Tour Package for two in Scotland, plus many other attractive prizes."

Eric Wong, Chief Customer and Marketing Officer of Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad, noted that this year marked the 10th consecutive year of Prudential being the title sponsor of the national amateur golf series.

"It has been a privilege to partner with Astro for the past decade and we are excited and honoured to be part of the Astro Masters’ journey," said Wong.

"At Prudential, we believe that sports are an important part of Malaysian culture and have tremendous power to inspire and unite us as a nation.

"We hope that tournaments such as the Prudential Astro Masters will continue to provide the opportunities and platforms to discover more local golf talents."
