Ernie Els has a long-time love affair with The Open and on Friday he began his 100th round at the world's oldest golf tournament.

'The Big Easy' as he is affectionately known is a two-time winner, triumphing first at Muirfield in 2002 before winning the Claret Jug again a decade later at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

Els is playing his 28th Open Championship and was partnered with Adam Hadwin and Chesson Hadley for the first two rounds at Carnoustie.

At the other end of the scale, Els' nephew Jovan Rebula made his Open debut this week, but the amateur finished 16 over following his two rounds and will not be around for the weekend.
