Marc Leishman retained the lead at the AT&T Byron Nelson as Sergio Garcia missed another cut on Friday.
After opening with a 61, Leishman carded a five-under 66 to move into 15 under at the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas.
The Australian was once again in fine form, with four birdies in five holes beginning at the first – his back nine – the highlight of his round.
"There always seem to be more out there, but I'll certainly take that," Leishman told the PGA Tour after his round.
"When you shoot a really low one like I did yesterday, it's hard to back it up and I'm happy to back it up with a five under.
"There probably were a few more out there, but I holed a couple of good putts that you don't really expect to so with the ones that I missed, there's a few that I made as well."
Aaron Wise continued his strong start, firing an eight-under 63 to be outright second at 14 under.
The round of the day belonged to Brian Gay, who carded a 62 that featured 10 birdies to sit a shot further back.
Jimmy Walker (67), Eric Axley (65) and Kevin Na (65) are tied for fourth at 11 under.
Jordan Spieth – still searching for his first win of the year – managed a five-under 66 to move into seven under, enough to leave him tied for 20th.
A further two shots back is Billy Horschel, the defending champion shooting a 69.
Garcia – a two-time champion – missed a third cut in his past four events after backing up his 72 with a 69.
