The Astro Masters is back for its 22nd edition to pit the best amateur golfers against each other.

Teeing off at Tropicana Golf & Country Club on May 2nd, its qualifying stage consists of 11 rounds in 19 courses across six states.

The overall Gross and Nett champions from each qualifying round will reach the Grand Final in Taiwan and stand to win prizes worth over RM600,000.



"We wish to thank the 51,300 golfers who have participated in Astro’s amateur golf tournament in the past two decades.

"The Astro Masters 2019 will be even greater with new golf courses for qualifying round and the Grand Finals at Sunrise Golf & Country Club and Miramar Golf Country Club in Taipei, Taiwan.

"Apart from the chance to play in Taipei, participants will get to test their skills at 4 new premier golf courses – the Palm Garden Golf Club, The Els Club Teluk Datai, The Els Club Desaru Coast and Glenmarie Golf & Country Club.

"Furthermore, they will have a chance to win a hole-in-one prize of a Mazda CX-9 worth more than RM290,000 at a designated par-3 hole," said P. Jeganathan, organising chairman of the 2019 Astro Masters.

Other exciting prizes up for grabs include a Panasonic 65" 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, a Panasonic micro system, and a Titoni watch.

The entry fee is RM600 per person, which includes breakfast, lunch, and a good bag worth about RM400, but Astro subscribers will only need to pay RM400 to enter the tournament.

​Last year's tournament saw Hezri Hasan being crowned the Champion Golfer of the Year by one shot with a two-day accumulated score of 144 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, while the net champion's title was won by Siw Tong Larm, with a two-day score of 135 net.
