It will be the second time the Harimau Malaya faced the 195th ranked team for World Cup qualification, with the former emerging victorious 7-1 over two legs in 2015.
They last faced each other in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifying play-off round in 2016, winning 6-0 on aggregate.
The first leg is scheduled to take place on June 6th, coincidentally the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, in Malaysia, while the second leg will be held on June 11th.
The AFC section of the FIFA World Cup qualifying stage will also double as the qualification for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
