England Cricket World Cup hopeful Sam Billings suffered a dislocated shoulder in Kent's One-Day Cup match with Glamorgan on Thursday.

Making his first county appearance of the season, the batsman sustained the injury while fielding during the second over in Cardiff.

Billings dived to stop the ball and put his shoulder out before receiving treatment for several minutes, during which time he was given oxygen.

Kent confirmed the 27-year-old, who was not named in his country's provisional 15-man squad for the World Cup but is a likely reserve, had his shoulder relocated in hospital before returning to Sophia Gardens.

Billings, who had been included for the ODI with Ireland on May 3, will see a specialist and undergo scans on Friday.

His brief outing with Kent on Thursday came following his return from Indian Premier League duty with Chennai Super Kings.
