Stephon Marbury, entering what he says will be his final season in the Chinese Basketball Association, already has plans for his retirement: owning an arena football league team in his adopted homeland.

The former NBA All-Star and CBA MVP announced Friday via Twitter that he has acquired the Beijing Lions of the fledgling China Arena Football League, a purchase the league confirmed.

The New York Daily News noted that Marbury's announcment was an homage to fellow Brooklynite Jay-Z: “This is a public service announcement. Allow me to introduce myself My name is STAR!” along with a China Sports Insider story about the acquisition.

The Lions won the China Bowl in the league's inaugural season last year.

Marbury, 40, played 15 seasons in the NBA with five teams and has played in the CBA since 2010.
