Kawhi Leonard may not want to remain in Toronto after this season.

The 27-year-old star and guard Danny Green were sent from the Spurs to the Raptors in exchange for a package centered around DeMar DeRozan this summer. Leonard, however, was reportedly hoping to be traded to the Lakers or Clippers before the deal.

Leonard could still be interested in signing with one of the Los Angeles teams, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on The Woj and Lowe Show this weekend. Leonard grew up in the city.

Wojnarowski reported (via RealGM):

"They can't change the geography. They can't change the weather in Toronto. Those (will) always be things against them in this. Home and L.A. has been the focus for Kawhi Leonard through all of this."

Leonard has averaged 26.2 points and 8.2 rebounds in 23 games for the Raptors in 2018-19. He has shot 48.7 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from 3-point range.

The Raptors will face the Nuggets in Denver on Sunday. They’ll enter that matchup with a 23-8 record.
