The Knicks may be trying to trade up to get Texas center Mohamed Bamba, according to ESPN.
New York would likely have to trade up into the top 5 to get Bamba, making Memphis a possible trade partner. However, if they want to do that, the Grizzlies would want to throw in a suggestion of their own.
According to ESPN, Memphis is adamant about getting rid of Chandler Parsons' contract. Any team wanting the No. 4 pick would likely have to take on Parsons in a deal.
Parsons has two years left on the four year, $94 million deal he signed with Memphis in 2016. He has played a grand total of 70 games in two seasons with the Grizzlies averaging 7.1 points.
This could be a challenge for the Knicks who already have cap issues, so it remains to be seen if they would get the deal done with this particular caveat.
However, they apparently would love to have their own twin towers with Bamba and Kristaps Porzingis and the idea of those two athletic 7-footers teaming up is certainly intriguing.
Bamba is currently projected by Sporting News to go No. 6 to the Magic.
