Zion Williamson is a South Carolina native, but he will be leaving the Palmetto state to pursue his college basketball career.

The No. 2 overall player in the class of 2018 announced Saturday his commitment to play at Duke University.

"The brotherhood represents a family there," Williamson said on Sportscenter Saturday. "Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski), he's just the most legendary coach to ever coach college basketball and I feel like going to Duke University I can learn a lot from him in my time there."

Williamson is a 6-6, 275-pound power forward who is dominant in transition and on the boards, but where he really stands out is his dunking ability.

The 17-year-old out of Spartanburg, S.C. is a social-media sensation with 1.1 million Instagram followers and more than 100,000 loyal fans on Twitter. His highlight-reel dunks are a big reason why.

Williamson is ranked only behind fellow Duke commit R.J. Barrett in the 2018 class. Barrett's commitment will not have nearly the notoriety of Williamson, who can hardly walk around in public without someone asking for a picture or an autograph.

"It's fun and it can be not-so-fun at the same time," he told ESPN. "It's fun because, going all over the world. I was in Italy and people were asking me for pictures, 'Are you Zion? I don't believe you're in Italy right now. This is crazy.' I tell [people] my name, and they go 'Oh my god, it's really you.' That part's fun. People knowing who I am.

"The part that's not so fun, I'm a social person. When I'm trying to hang out with my friends — I can't thank my friends enough, they've sacrificed hours, taking pictures for other people."

Clemson, South Carolina, Kentucky, North Carolina and Kansas were all rumored to be on Williamson's final list of teams he was considering.

The Blue Devils now have commitments from the top three players in the class of 2018 with the aformentioned Barrett along with Cam Reddish.
