Kelly Olynyk appears to have suffered a leg injury in Canada's 96-87 victory over Nigeria in a FIBA World Cup exhibition game Wednesday in Toronto.

The Heat center was injured after he slipped and fell in the third quarter. He went back to the locker room and did not return.

Olynyk has been scheduled to have X-rays on what appeared to be a knee injury, Canada coach Nick Nurse told reporters.

Olynyk, 28, averaged 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in 79 appearances for Miami in 2018-19. He started 36 games for the team, which finished with a 39-43 record and missed the playoffs.

The Heat upgraded their backcourt by adding Jimmy Butler but Olynyk will remain important to Miami's frontcourt rotation, alongside third-year big man Bam Adebayo, in 2019-20.

Canada's roster features NBA talents like Cory Joseph, Khem Birch and Chris Boucher, but Olynyk would be a significant loss.
