The FIBA World Cup qualifier between Philippines and Australia ended prematurely when the hosts were reduced to just one player following a mass brawl in Bulacan.

Punches were thrown and a chair was launched as the melee continued on and off court in the third quarter.

Nine Philippines players and were ejected and they were left with only three men when the Group B match resumed after ordered was restored.

Calvin Abueva, Andray Blatche, Matthew Wright, Terrence Romeo, Roger Pogoy and Carl Bryan Cruz were given their marching orders along with Jayson Castro, Jeth Rosario and Japeth Aguilar.

Australia quartet Cameron Gliddon, Daniel Kickert, Nathan Sobey and Thon Maker were also ejected following the unsavoury scenes.

June Mar Fajardo fouled out to make it five on two and the game was over when Gabe Norwood hit the foul limit, leaving the Philippines down to just one player and hence suffering a 89-53 defeat.
