Goh Jin Wei clinched her second BWF World Junior Championships title after emerging victorious in the girls' singles final in Markham, Canada, on Sunday.

The 2015 world junior champion, who won a gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympics last month, beat Denmark's Line Christophersen 21-13, 21-11 in straight sets.

The 18-year-old became the first repeat champion in the girls' singles category since Thai star Ratchanok Intanon, who won the title three consecutive times from 2009 to 2011, and Malaysia's first multiple winner since Chan Chong Ming in the late 90s.

Remarkably, the straight set win meant Goh, who also beat first seed Wang Zhiyi 21-9, 21-13 en route to the final, sealed the title without dropping a single set throughout the tournament.

Malaysia came close to having a double joy with Pearly Tan Koong Le and Toh Ee Wei also reaching the girls' doubles final, but they lost to Chinese pair Liu Xuanxuan and Xia Yuting 16-21, 16-21.
