The Saints suffered a disappointing loss to the Falcons, their main NFC South rivals, last Thursday in a game where multiple players were helped off the field.
Saints rookie running back Alvin Kamara was the most impactful injury. He left the game on the opening drive after taking a blow to the head, and the Saints offense mustered just 14 points the rest of the game.
Luckily for Saints fans, Kamara cleared the concussion protocol Friday, putting him on track to start Sunday against the hapless Jets.
Kamara has more than 600 yards rushing and receiving this season, with 11 combined touchdowns. Selected in the third round of this year's NFL Draft, Kamara has immediately paid the Saints back for their gamble of moving up, losing next year's second-round pick in the process.
With fantasy playoffs in full swing, Kamara should be a trusted asset this week at home against the Jets' leaky defense.
