Rain causes disruption to Hawaii Open schedule

Only one first-round match was completed at the Hawaii Open on Monday as rain wreaked havoc on the tournament's schedule.

Seventh seed Sara Sorribes Tormo comfortably booked her place in the second round after seeing off Tereza Mrdeza 6-3 6-4 in one hour and 48 minutes.

Grace Min and Veronica Cepede Royg did come out on court, but the heavens re-opened and they did not manage to complete a single game.

The likes of top seed Zhang Shuai, Nicole Gibbs and former Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki are all scheduled to play on Tuesday.
