Federer recovers from Zverev setback by hammering Gasquet

Roger Federer was in impressive form as he beat Richard Gasquet 6-1 6-4 in the Hopman Cup on Friday.

After almost six months out of action, the former world number one has made his return from injury in Perth ahead of the Australian Open.

Although Federer suffered a setback in losing to teenager Alexander Zverev on Wednesday, he recovered by beating Gasquet within an hour.

The 17-time grand slam winner produced 11 aces in a dominating performance that gave Switzerland a 1-0 lead over France and put them on the brink of a place in the final
