Petra Kvitova is reportedly set to undergo surgery after she was attacked with a knife by a burglar on Tuesday.
The two-time Wimbledon champion was said to be in her Prostejov apartment when she was confronted by an intruder.
Czech news agency CTK Tejkal quoted Kvitova's spokesman, Karel Tejkal, as saying that the world number 11 suffered a cut to her left hand and is being treated by doctors.
"It was a random criminal act. She was attacked in her apartment and is in the care of doctors, but the injury does not endanger her life," CTK cite Tejkal as saying.
It had earlier been announced that the 26-year-old would not compete in the Hopman Cup next month due to a foot injury.
The Czech suffered a stress fracture in her right foot, but was still hopeful of featuring at the team event starting January 1.
But Kvitova said her recovery had been slower than expected, leading to her withdrawal.
