Cam Reddish will have a better NBA career than number one draft pick Zion Williamson, according to the duo's fellow 2019 rookies.
Reddish, who was selected No. 10 by the Hawks, and Williamson were teammates at Duke.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that Young's injury is an eye infection.
The 42-year-old wing was a free agent this offseason and now fills one of the last two roster spots for the Hawks.
"Just waiting for the right opportunity, and nothing has changed as far as that goal, and that dream of mine is to still play,” Carter said.
The Atlanta Hawks have reportedly signed forward Jabari Parker.
The deal is for two years and worth $13 million, with a player option on the second year.
Damien Jones has been traded to Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Omari Spellman and a 2026 second-round draft pick.
The Hawks also will receive a second-round pick from the Warriors.
The two-for-one deal — the Grizzlies get Solomon Hill and Mile Plumlee — appears to be about trade flexibility and roster spots.
