The Selangor Pistons finally ended their losing run in the 2018 Sepak Takraw League (STL) Premier season with a win over the Melaka Titans on Saturday.

In the final match of the day on the Gem In Mall, Cyberjaya, they had to dig deep to claim the 2-0 victory especially in the second set, which went to the 25-point cap.

The Pistons, who had lost all of their matches since the start of the new season, won it 25-24 after taking the first set 21-16.

It was the second time that the 25-point cap was reached on Saturday, which happened earlier in a match between the Perak Bison and the Terengganu Turtles.

The Turtles won 25-23 in the second set, but unlike their Selangor counterparts, they did not win the match as they lost the first and third sets.

Meanwhile, the unbeaten Kuala Lumpur Thunder piled pressure on defending champions Penang Black Panthers, who were not in action on Saturday, by joining them at the top of the standings with a 2-0 win over the PDRM Defenders.

They won 21-16, 21-15.

The ATM Guardians, another unbeaten side so far in the league, followed suit by making it three wins out of three by beating the Johor Tigris 21-18, 21-17.

The win should provide them with much needed confidence boost for their upcoming big clash against unbeaten league leaders Black Panthers on Sunday.
