Super League strugglers Hull KR have parted company with head coach Tim Sheens.

Former Australia coach Sheens took over ahead of the 2017 campaign and guided Rovers back to the top flight in his first season in charge.

The club then retained their Super League status last term, but Sheens has paid the price for poor form, which has seen them slip to 11th in the table and bow out of the Challenge Cup to Warrington Wolves.

In a statement, Rovers said: "A recent run of six defeats in seven league games during the current campaign, which leaves the club sat next to the bottom of the league, and an exit from the Coral Challenge Cup at the weekend, has prompted a change."
