Hull KR stretched Widnes Vikings' losing streak to 14 Super League matches with a hard fought 26-24 victory at Halton Stadium on Saturday.

Widnes have gone almost four months without a win and endured more suffering at the hands of fellow strugglers Rovers.

Krisnan Inu's penalty put the bottom side in front, but they were 8-2 down at the break after James Donaldson found a gap to go under the posts following a Chris Atkin penalty.

Danny Tickle's try, which he converted himself, early in the second half extended Rovers' lead, but battling Widnes were level at 14-14 following converted scores from Olly Ashall-Bott and Danny Craven.

Adam Quinlan and Liam Salter side-stepped their way through either side of a try from Owen Buckley, who went over again in the closing stages, but Widnes ran out of time to stop the rot.
