Super League strugglers Leeds Rhinos have signed Robert Lui from Salford Red Devils, with Tui Lolohea moving in the other direction.

Half-back Lui has joined the relegation-threatened Rhinos on loan for the rest of the season for an undisclosed fee and agreed a two-year deal to remain at Headingley.

Tonga utility back Lolohea joined up with Leeds this season, but he will spend the remainder of the campaign at Salford where he has also signed a two-year contract.

Leeds director of rugby Kevin Sinfield said: "We are pleased to have brought a half-back of Robert's experience into our squad for this season and the next two years.

"He has proven his quality in Super League over the last four seasons and I know the players are looking forward to working with him.

"I would like to thank Ian Blease and Ian Watson at Salford for their co-operation throughout the process and we wish Tui Lolohea all the best with his move to the AJ Bell Stadium."

The Rhinos have also re-signed Shaun Lunt from Hull KR for the rest of the season, with Matt Parcell joining Rovers.
