Jonny Lomax impressed and Ryan Morgan and Theo Fages each scored twice as Super League leaders St Helens turned on the style in a 40-18 victory at Castleford Tigers on Thursday.

The Saints had beaten the Tigers in the Challenge Cup at the Jungle just 12 days ago, and the visitors were once again too strong for last year's Grand Final runners-up.

Kyle Amor started the eight-try showing in just the third minute with a simple burst through the Cas defence, although the hosts hit back quickly through Mike McMeeken.

But the brilliant Ben Barba showed his nimble feet on the right touchline to score Saints' second, before Lomax exploited a gap to stretch the lead and then turned provider with the kick from which Dominique Peyroux touched down 10 minutes before the break.

There was no let-up in the second half as Barba combined with Adam Swift to send Morgan over in the 44th minute and he had a second for the night thanks to great speed and awareness from Lomax.

Fages came off the bench to get his name of the scoresheet, before Cas threatened a late rally with three tries in 10 minutes that saw Paul McShane, Jake Trueman and Oliver Holmes dot down.

Saints had the final say, though, and Lomax was again influential, his dummy selling the Cas defence to set up Fages.
