Tommy Leuluai has agreed a one-year contract extension with Wigan Warriors for the 2020 season.

The former New Zealand international has won two Super League titles, the Challenge Cup and World Club Challenge across two different spells with the Warriors.

Leuluai, who has made 274 appearances for the club, departed Wigan in 2012 after a five-year spell to return to the New Zealand Warriors in NRL, but re-joined in 2017.

"I'm really excited to be heading into another year with this group. 2020 is shaping up to be an exciting season for everyone involved with Wigan Warriors but, first and foremost, I'll be concentrating on helping this group defend our Super League title in 2019," he told the club's official website.

"Wigan has a special place in my heart, and I'm looking forward to going round for another season."

Wigan also confirmed captain Sean O'Loughlin does not need surgery on the pectoral injury he sustained during Tuesday's 15-14 win over Hull FC.

The 36-year-old is expected to miss between six to eight weeks of action.

Head coach Adrian Lam said: "Losing a player of Sean's influence and ability will always be tough to take, yet the silver lining to this is that we should be welcoming him back into the fold as we look to make the play-offs at the end of the season.

"It's up to us now as a unit to maintain our upward trajectory in recent weeks by securing a play-off berth to welcome Sean back into the squad."
