Wallabies wing Marika Koroibete is eyeing the World Cup after re-signing with Rugby Australia and the Rebels until the end of 2019.

Koroibete, 26, has made 14 Test appearances for Australia since returning to union following a stint in rugby league.

The Fiji-born speedster has agreed to a new deal with the Wallabies and Rebels, it was confirmed on Thursday.

Koroibete, who has scored five tries in his 14 Tests, has set his sights on next year's Rugby World Cup in Japan.

"It's really good to sign for one more year with the Melbourne Rebels and Rugby Australia. I'm already looking forward to it as I'm really loving my rugby at the moment," he said.

"Everyone helped me so much after moving from rugby league but there's still a lot of things I need to work on. At the moment I just want to be more consistent.

"There's a lot of young boys coming up, there's a lot of competition there. For me, I just to take it week by week.

"It's a massive year next year, we have a couple of new signings and I really want to do well at the Rebels and try play consistent rugby. Then hopefully go from there, get picked for the World Cup. It really would be a dream come true."

The Wallabies are preparing for a Rugby Championship clash against Argentina on the Gold Coast on Saturday.
