Warrington Wolves sounded an early warning to their Super League rivals with a 26-6 victory over Leeds Rhinos.

Steve Price's side, beaten in last season's Grand Final, kicked off the new campaign in style as Josh Charnley led the way with an impressive performance.

Star signing Blake Austin was also among the try scorers as the Wolves put on a show at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Stefan Ratchford converted his own try and then kicked a penalty to put Warrington 8-0 up midway through the first half.

That lead was extended to 20 before the interval as Charnley and Daryl Clark crossed to underline the Wolves' dominance.

Austin finished a fine second-half move to score on debut for the hosts, who fell short of achieving the shutout after Toby King's yellow card as Stevie Ward grabbed a consolation try for the Rhinos.
