Nathan Cleary kicked Penrith Panthers to a golden-point victory over Wests Tigers on Friday, while Gold Coast Titans are still without a win this season after they were beaten by New Zealand Warriors.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary had been the centre of attention leading up to the game against his former club, having been released from the final two years of his contract with the Tigers last October to return for a second stint in charge of Penrith.

It was his son, Nathan, who kept the Cleary name in the spotlight at Panthers Stadium, landing a late touchline conversion following Dylan Edwards' try to make it 8-8 at the end of 80 minutes - then kicking the match-winning drop goal in extra time.

Wests scored two tries - Corey Thompson and Ryan Matterson touching down - but their kicking woes cost them dearly on the road. They missed both conversions, as well as a penalty and three drop-goal attempts.

At Mt Smart Stadium, last year's Dally M winner Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was among the try-scorers in the Warriors' 26-10 victory over the struggling Titans, who have now suffered four straight defeats in 2019.

Peta Hiku, David Fusitu'a and Tohu Harris also registered four-pointers for Stephen Kearney's side, while debutant Chanel Harris-Tavita added three conversions and a pair of penalties.

The Warriors led 20-0 at one stage before Dale Copley and Anthony Don both touched down in a positive four-minute spell for the Titans, though Harris' 71st-minute try ended any hopes of a late comeback for the visitors.
