Super League leaders Castleford Tigers have dropped Rangi Chase for Thursday's clash with Leeds Rhinos after he was part of an internal investigation.

On Tuesday Castleford revealed that the former England half-back will not face the Rhinos at the Jungle, but gave no specific details of why Chase was omitted from a 19-man squad.

Tigers CEO Steve Gill said: "Rangi was part of an investigation that has been dealt with internally by the club, neither Rangi Chase or the Castleford Tigers will make any further comment on this issue."

Chase started the Super League victories over Leigh Centurions, the club he left in May, and Warrington Wolves after returning for a second spell with Castleford in July.

The New Zealand-born former Man of Steel said he had fallen out of love with rugby league after leaving Leigh last year.
