SEA Games: Malaysia miss out on women's water polo bronze
The Malaysia women's water polo team ended their 2017 SEA Games challenge without any medal or win after losing to Indonesia 1-7 in their final group match.

Although they lost 2-22 to Thailand and 6-12 to Singapore, a victory against Indonesia would’ve seen Malaysia secure a bronze medal.

However, it was not meant to be as they conceded the first goal of the day from Siti Balkis with less than two minutes in the first quarter.

Trisha Then Chiah Huey thought she equalised for Malaysia in the dying seconds of the first quarter, but the goal was ruled off after exceeding the time limit.

Indonesia went on to grab four goals in the second quarter and three in the final quarter, while Sarah-Ann Thorp scored a consolation for the host nation in the third quarter.

In the other match, Thailand defeated Singapore 5-1 to defend their 2015 SEA Games gold medal, while the Republic settled for their second consecutive silver.
