The threat of thunderstorms loomed over Augusta for much of Monday, causing Masters practice to be suspended at 14.30 local time.
As the golfing elite and their fervent followers descended on the famous course ahead of the tournament starting on Thursday, many were left disappointed by the weather.
Practice rounds were disrupted throughout the day, with the impending approach of thunderstorms eventually prompting organisers to suspend play for the day shortly after lunchtime.
"Play will be suspended shortly for the day, based on new weather information," read a tweet from the Masters' official account.
According to forecasts, Tuesday is supposed to see the weather improve, although Wednesday and Thursday could see the return of further storms.
