The "Danica Double" looks like a go … or rather, a GoDaddy.

Danica Patrick announced Thursday that her old sponsor, Internet giant GoDaddy, will sponsor her for NASCAR's Daytona 500 next month and IndyCar's Indianapolis 500 in May.

Patrick, who competed full time in NASCAR's Cup series for five seasons, announced her retirement from the sport at the end of last season. But she said she wanted to run those two marquee events in 2018 as a farewell, in a "Danica Double."

Now, with funding from GoDaddy, her longtime sponsor in IndyCar and NASCAR, she has the funds. All she needs is a ride for both events. The 35-year-old driver had been talking with Chip Ganassi Racing about that prospect, but talks with the race team broke off last week.

Patrick told the Associated Press it's good to be back with a familiar supporter in GoDaddy.

"I am fitting back into spaces where I am more familiar with people and I think that is a critical element," Patrick said. "We'll have more to announce on the team side soon, but with GoDaddy being the sponsor, knowing how they work, having that level of a familiarity from a working and friendship standpoint helps."
