Top 3 Highlights Of ONE Warrior Series 7

The seventh live event of Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series (OWS) took place on Tuesday, 6 August in Singapore.

Throughout the afternoon, 30 talented athletes from around the world competed across 15 mixed martial arts bouts, each hoping to impress the ONE Championship executives seated ringside.

Standout performers could potentially earn a six-figure contract from the CEO of OWS, Rich “Ace” Franklin, to compete on the main roster of ONE Championship.

Now that some time has passed, we review the three best moments from OWS 7.

Lito Adiwang Continues Wow Fans

The main event strawweight battle between Team Lakay’s Lito Adiwang and Anthony “The Antidote” Do thrilled the audience.

Adiwang stayed close to his wushu roots, a move that paid off as he established a rhythm of kicks and punches against his Vietnamese opponent.

He used good defensive skills on the ground and performed well under pressure to close out the match with a decision win. He earned himself a lucrative contract from Franklin.

Adiwang is on the brink of stardom. Now that he has graduated onto the main roster of ONE, fans can expect the young Filipino to deliver the goods.

Uyen Ha Dominates In Sophomore Appearance

The Vietnamese-Australian followed up her OWS debut with a strong performance. She earned a second-round TKO win over Neha Kashyap.

Resoundingly poised throughout the contest, Ha constantly threatened Kashyap, pushed forward, and never let up with her feinted jabs and straights.

After scoring a successful takedown, Ha took full mount and used her thigh to trap one of her rivals’ arm. A defenseless Kashyap struggled against the Australian’s subsequent ground and pound, which forced the referee to wave off the bout at the 2:29 mark of round two.

Ha, who trains out of Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand, improved her record to 2-1.

Ali Motamed Edges Past Zechariah Lange In Spectacular Battle

Although it was never meant to be a headliner, Motamed and Lange’s combined efforts nearly stole the show.

Motamed’s taller and broader frame kept Lange at a distance, and for the first stanza, both men circled and tested each other with leg kicks and crisp jabs. Neither could find their mark consistently.

In the second frame, Lange attempted several takedowns, but he met stiff resistance from the Iranian striker. Lange managed to land some clean punches, but he also caught a knee in the process as he tried for another takedown.

The third stanza breathed more life into Lange, but Motamed’s range and kicks made it hard for the Bali MMA product to score a decisive counter.

In the end, Motamed’s strong takedown defense and overall output over the three rounds sealed his first unanimous decision win in OWS.

ONE Championship’s next event, ONE: IMMORTAL TRIUMPH, takes place on 6 September in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
