Should it materialise, it will be the first time the UFC takes place in Malaysia and the 20th time in Asia.

The UFC has already taken place nine times in Japan, five in China, three in Singapore, and once each in the Philippines and South Koera.

The last UFC event to happen in Asia was UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs. Edwards at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in June earlier this year.

At the time of writing, the UFC had confirmed 10 events to be held in 2019, with only the venues and locations for Fight Night 146 (March 9) and Fight Night 148 (March 23) unconfirmed.
