ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio will look to turn recent heartache into added motivation.

The Filipino will defend the gold against his longtime Brazilian rival, Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes, in the main event of ONE: HERO’S ASCENT, which emanates from Manila, Philippines this Friday, 25 January.

With what just happened at ONE: ETERNAL GLORY last Saturday, 19 January, Eustaquio is determined to leave the Mall Of Asia Arena with the prestigious belt wrapped around his waist.

Team Lakay dropped its first two matches in ONE Championship this year, including one where Joshua Pacio lost the ONE Strawweight World Title to Yosuke Saruta via razor-thin split decision.

Mark Sangiao, Team Lakay’s head coach, vows that they will not be dropping two World Titles in one week.

“Joshua Pacio and Edward Kelly’s losses became a motivation for the team,” Sangiao said.

“We worked hard not to suffer that same result of losing a World Title in its first defense. What we want to happen in this Eustaquio versus Moraes trilogy is to finish the fight by either knockout or submission.”

“Gravity” does not intend to leave his fate in the hands of the judges when he stands across the cage from the Brazilian in their trilogy bout — the first of its kind in ONE Championship history.

"If I get the opportunity to knock him out, I will do that. If God permits, I will even go for a submission. If I have the opportunity, I will take it and not let it slip away,” Eustaquio said.

“There will be more surprises for Adriano Moraes in our third meeting. I am hoping to implement those and get the win on fight night.”
